SCJ Youth Corps Hero

Program Overview

The Youth Corps is trained inside real SCJ learning environments, guided by mentors and clear routines. You’ll learn how to support small groups, communicate confidently, and assist safe, structured learning sessions.

Program culture, safeguarding basics, professionalism, classroom routines, and expectations.

Phase 2: Skills Bootcamp
Practical coaching scripts, group management, and how to assist learning activities (no experience required).

Phase 3: Guided Practicum
Assist live sessions with supervision. Learn how to help without taking over.

Phase 4: Deployment
Support weekend clubs, camps, or partner sites as an assistant or junior facilitator.
Who should apply?

Training Certificate of Completion

Volunteers/trainees who complete the required orientation, skills bootcamp, and supervised practicum will receive a Training Certificate of Completion aligned with our core program.

  • Eligibility: 18–24 years old (any educational background)
  • Requirements: training attendance + practicum hours + basic performance check
  • Purpose: confirms readiness to assist learning sessions under mentor guidance

Anyone 18–24 years old, regardless of educational background. We prioritize attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.

No. Training starts from the basics and includes guided practicum with supervision.

The entry is volunteer/trainee-based. Depending on site needs and performance, some roles may become paid part-time placements. No guarantees—placement depends on availability and program needs.

Typical commitment is 4–8 hours per week. We try to match schedules (weekdays/weekends) based on site operations.

Learning Support Assistant, Literacy/Communication Support, Coding Lab Assistant, Math Focus Coach, Documentation & Community Ops, and Events Support. You may rotate tracks.

Yes. You’ll follow child safeguarding rules, respectful communication standards, and site procedures. Photo/video documentation requires consent.

Yes. Volunteers/trainees who complete the required orientation, skills bootcamp, and supervised practicum will receive a Training Certificate of Completion issued by Seels Teachers Academy of Japan aligned with our core program reference: seelsta.jp/dc.html.

No. This is a non-profit, education-focused training initiative for youth and students. We encourage self-sufficiency and shared responsibility, so participants cover their own transportation and personal expenses as part of their commitment to professional growth.

However, for less-privileged youth, our partner institutions and individual donors may provide limited financial or in-kind support (subject to availability).

We partner with LGUs and community organizations serving young learners. We currently have an MoU with the LGU of Santa Barbara, Iloilo, and we welcome new partnership inquiries.
